The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Australia 86 Series will add a second event at Mount Panorama to its 2022 calendar following the addition to the support program for the LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour this May 13-15.

Races 4, 5 & 6 of the 2022 series will be contested over the course of the event and will represent the first of two visits to the Mountain for the one-make category this year; the second to come at the Repco Bathurst 1000 in October.

Following the debut at the 12-hour this May, the one-make series will also race at the NTI Townsville 500 and the Penrite Oil Sandown SuperSprint before making its second trek to Mount Panorama.

Lachlan Gibbons dominated the opening round of the 2022 series held at Sydney Motorsport Park in March, scoring pole position before winning all three races to take an early lead in the five-round series.

He leads Zach Bates and Jobe Stewart in the standings with Bailey Sweeney and Jarrod Hughes completing the top five in the standings.

TGRA 86 series alumni and current Supercars driver, Will Brown will also line up on the grid as one of the Guest Drivers in the one make series race.

There were 37 cars entered in the opening round, making the series one of the most well-supported in Australian motorsport.

The TGRA 86 Series will compete on the Friday and Saturday of the 12-hour event, with practice, qualifying and race one on Friday. A further two races on Saturday will complete the round.

The Toyota’s join the Aussie Racing Cars and Bathurst 12 Hour Combined Sedans on the LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour support program this year.

The full event schedule will be released this week.
