PREMIAIR Racing's first step into GT racing has moved ahead with their Audi R8 LMS breaking cover at Phillip Island today.

The car, owned by Brad Schumacher, features a striking blue and white livery with major backing from lubricant brand Fuchs.

Additional backing appears from Schumacher's regular suite of sponsors including Kelso Electrical, McDonald's and Reckless Brewing.

According to a post on the team's Facebook page, the car will be shared by Schumacher and James Golding at today's test, with the latter set to form part of the team's Bathurst driving squad.

Golding contested the last seven rounds of the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship with the team and will line up in a full-time capacity in 2023.

He also gained valuable Bathurst track time last November at the Bathurst International, lapping an S5000 open-wheeler well under the two minute mark in a series of at-speed demonstrations.

PremiAir are yet to confirm a third driver, with original plans to include South African star Kelvin van der Linde now unlikely thanks to his last-minute addition to the FIA Formula E Championship grid this week.

The team are one of many testing at Phillip Island today as squads prepare to head to Mount Panorama in less than two weeks' time.

Having tested at The Bend Motorsport Park earlier this week, Triple Eight Race Engineering's pair of Mercedes-AMG GT3s have also relocated to the Victorian venue.

Wall Racing's Lamborghini Huracan is also set to run today - the team owner having celebrated his birthday yesterday.
