Porsche aces confirmed for HubAuto Bathurst return

Expert trio to lead Taiwanese team’s return to Mount Panorama

HubAuto Racing has solidified their Australian return as formidable contenders in the 2024 Repco Bathurst 12 Hour by announcing a stellar trio of drivers for the upcoming 16-18 February event.

Taking a seat in HubAuto Racing’s Porsche 911 GT3R 992 are Porsche Factory drivers Klaus Bachler, Kevin Estre and Patrick Pilet; eager to secure a podium place and make their mark at the iconic Bathurst track.

The trio raced together in last year's IMSA SportsCar Championship finale' at Road Atlanta, finishing second in the GTD Pro class in the 2023 Petit LeMans enduro.

With extensive Bathurst experience and previously finishing 3rd in the 2018 Bathurst 12 Hour, Estre is ready to step onto the podium.

"Glad to be back in Bathurst with HubAuto Racing,” Estre said.

“It’s one of the best tracks in the world, and the competition this year is higher than ever. I can’t wait to drive on the mountain and share the car with Klaus and Patrick. We finished 2nd in the last race we did together; let’s try to improve one more step!”

Joining Estre, Austrian, Klaus Bachler - on his Bathurst debut this year -is also keen to impress.

"I am really looking forward to Bathurst together with HubAuto Racing! Bathurst is one of the best tracks in the world. This race is a big challenge with great competition. Sharing the car with Patrick and Kevin is awesome, and we are ready to fight for the victory."

Completing the trio is highly experienced Pilet, who competed in the 12-Hour in 2020, finishing fourth with Absolute Racing in a car shared with Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet.

"I’m extremely happy to join HubAuto Racing for this amazing race. I have a first experience at Bathurst before, and it’s an amazing track and event. It’s definitely a race I would like to add to my collection. And sharing the car with Klaus and Kevin will be again a pleasure."

HubAuto Racing team owner Morris Chen said he was confident the trio gave them a strong chance at success on their Bathurst return.

“We are greatly anticipating having Klaus, Kevin and Patrick for HubAuto Racing’s return to Bathurst,” he said.

“All of the drivers work well together, and it is a wonderful opportunity to have them join us.

“Our team is confident that we have the right combination of skills and experience which places us in an excellent position for success.

“This synergy, and the ongoing support from our fans and sponsors is of utmost importance. We are ready to make them all proud at Mount Panorama."

The Repco Bathurst 12 Hour race is scheduled to commence at 5:45am (AEDT) 18 February 2024 with the event held over 16-18 February, 2024.
