Method McLaren entries confirmed

METHOD MOTORSPORT has shown off the pair of McLaren Artura GT4s they will launch to the Aussie public at the 2024 Repco Bathurst 12 Hour.

The brand-new squad has also confirmed that the talented trio of Tom Hayman, Elliott Schutte and Tom McLennan will drive the #230 entry in the race, alongside the #25 car which will see Chaz Mostert, young Porsche rising star Marcos Flack and newcomer Jesse Bryan.

Tom Hayman, who is one of the brightest emerging Trans AM talents, is eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to race a McLaren GT4 Artura at Bathurst.

Hayman claimed victory in the final round of TransAm at Mount Panorama last November, finishing fourth in the 2023 series.

“I can’t thank Chaz enough for this opportunity and I’m very excited to be able to get to the event and experience it as a driver,” said Hayman.

Added Co-owner, Chaz Mostert: “To have someone like Tom joining the team is massive news and exciting for us."

Elliott Schutte is a skilled Perth based racer who has proven his ability in the Radical Cup Australia in recent years, impressing in the one-make Sports Car series having converted to motorsport via sim racing - where he was a finalist in the famous PlayStation Nissan GT Academy in 2015.

Linking up with Arise Racing, Schutte finished sixth on his debut in the championship in 2022, before improving further in 2023 to become a title contender - finishing second outright with several wins to his credit.

Porsche racer McLennan is one of the many rising stars from one-make competition in Australia, showing his promise in Porsche Sprint Challenge in 2022 and '23, where he was a podium finish.

"I am keen to have announced our driver line up for the second car," Team Principal Guy McEntyre said.

"The enthusiasm in these drivers coupled with their talent is great to be a part of. Whilst we are a new team I am wrapped at the line up Chaz and I have recruited for the 12 Hour and now cannot wait just to go racing.”
