TOP Porsche outfit GPX Racing will contest the full Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli in 2022, which includes the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

The Dubai-based team won the IGCT category within the 2020 Spa 24 Hours race, finishing fourth outright with Aussie star Matt Campbell as one of the drivers.

Campbell paired with Mathieu Jaminet and Patrick Pilet to finish second overall in the 2020 GT World Challenge Europe Season.

GPX won the Spa 24 Hours outright in 2019 for Porsche and would be expected to field a squad of factory drivers for their 12-Hour attack.

The team confirmed their switch from GT World Challenge Europe to the four-round Intercontinental Series in a story published by noted Sports Car racing site, Endurance-Info.com.

“The plan is to compete in the Intercontinental GT Challenge with a Porsche 911 GT3 R,” GPX Racing Team Manager Pierre-Brice Mena told Endurance-Info.

"The objective is clearly to win the Drivers' title. Going to IGTC is the wish of our partners in order to have even more international visibility."

"With the IGTC, it is easier to take the races one after the other with, in addition, mythical races on the program such as Bathurst and Spa."

The team currently features backing from iconic drinks brand, Martini

Tickets are now on sale for the 2022 LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour, with Trackside tickets, Grandstand seats and VIP Parking available online now.

Camping sales will be available soon.

Australia's International Enduro will commence the 2022 Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli schedule, to be followed by the Spa 24 Hours, the Indianapolis 8 Hour and the season-ending Kyalami 9 Hours in South Africa.
