MORE ON-TRACK activity than ever before is a highlight of the 2019 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour event schedule, released today.

Expanded to four days for the first time in event history, the program includes an additional support category and more track time for 12-Hour competitors throughout the weekend.

Thursday, 31 January is reserved for support categories with practice, qualifying and three races on the schedule.

Skye Sands Combined Sedans, Formula Ford, Group S and the Radical Australia Cup make up the bumper support program, with big fields expected throughout.

12-hour teams will have opportunity to site the circuit on two scheduled track walks while their cars undergo scrutineering in pit lane. The traditional Bathurst 12-Hour pre-event launch will also be held on Thursday.

12-hour cars hit the track for the first time on Friday, 1 February; four practice sessions offering 3.5 hours of track time for teams to dial in their cars and drivers ahead of Qualifying on Saturday.

A fifth, one-hour session Saturday morning will preview qualifying later that day, which will again take place across three sessions.

Qualifying 1 will be a 45-minute session for all competitors, and will set the respective starting order for classes B, C and I.

Qualifying 2 will be a 30-minute dash for cars in class A only, setting the grid for positions 11 and back.

The 10 fastest cars will then progress to the Pirelli Top-10 Shootout and fight for the Allan Simonsen Pole Award, due to start at 4:40pm local time on Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday, February 3, pit lane opens at 5:15am with the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour to commence at 5:45am when cars roll away from the famous Mount Panorama grid.

Full broadcast and live streaming details for the event will be announced soon.

The 2019 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour will be held across four days, on 31 January to 3 February 2019.

The Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour is supported by the NSW Government via its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW
