AUDI will defend their Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour title in 2019.

The brand recently committed to the full 2019 Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC) at a function celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Customer Sport Racing program in Germany last week.

Audi Customer Sport Racing boss Chris Reinke confirmed the team would field two cars in the full five-round ICGT series next year, that will open on the Mountain in February.

Other rounds include the California 8 Hours, Suzuka 10 Hours, 24 Hours of Spa and a brand-new event at Kyalami, South Africa.

Success for Audi Sport Team WRT in this year's 12-Hour anchored the marques 2019 IGTC campaign - one that saw them wrap up the manufacturers title via victory at Laguna Seca two weeks ago. The brand won three of the four rounds contested this year though lost the drivers' title to arch rivals Mercedes-AMG.

Audi are the most successful brand in the 12-Hour's 'GT era', having won the race three times since 2011. A fourth win would edge them clear of Mazda as the most successful brand in the entire history of Australia's International Enduro.

Not yet confirmed are the teams to be representing Audi in the 12-Hour next year, though the Troy Russell-led Audi Customer Sport Racing Australia outfit is likely to form a significant part of the Bathurst plans. WRT, who won on their Bathurst debut this year, are yet to confirm their return.

Audi have enjoyed a remarkable season with their Customer Sports program winning races throughout the world.

Audi R8 LMS GT3 cars have won more than 130 races this season while the brand has achieved more than 30 titles throughout their GT3, GT4 and TCR programs.

Audi Customer Sport Racing also unveiled an evolution version of the famous R8 LMS at their end of year event.

The Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour is supported by the NSW Government via its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
