Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour looks to 2011 THE Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour, Australia’s longest and toughest track test of performance and production vehicles will return bigger and better in 2011.
Race Promoter James O’Brien said his organisation would review yesterday’s fourth event with a view to attracting more competitors and boosting its audience of spectators, television viewers and internet users.
The race was won by the Eastern Creek International Karts team of Garry Holt, John Bowe and Paul Morris, who covered 1254 kilometres through rain, fog and even the obstacle of a fallen tree in the most gruelling 12 Hour to date.

7.30am Race Update TWO-time winner Damien White led the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour at 7.30 am after the first hour of racing at Mount Panorama today.
White pushed his Pedigree Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10 into the lead past the identical car of Jason Bargwanna on lap 16 as daylight came to a damp but drying circuit.
Bargwanna’s Pro-Duct teammate Glenn Seton was third.
Several incidents marked the first hour.
Queenslander Klark Quinn spun into a tyre wall going up the mountain when his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 had brake problems. The car was being repaired but Quinn said his VIP team was already out of contention.

8.30am Update DEFENDING champion Damien White retained the lead in the Armor All Bathurst 12-Hour production car race as the event headed into its third hour on the Mount Panorama circuit today.
White had started his Pedigree Class A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10 from fourth grid position, but took the lead from Jason Bargwanna just before the end of the first hour.
After two hours, he had completed 38 laps of the 6.21 kilometre track and held a lead of less than 10 seconds from Des Wall in a Lancer Evo 9.

9.30am Update THE 2008 and 2009 Mitsubishi winning team was fighting for the lead in the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour after three hours at Mount Panorama today.
Rod Salmon took over the Pedigree Lancer Evo 10 from Damien White - who had completed a double stint at the wheel from the 6.30 start – but came under pressure immediately from a hard-pushing Paul Morris in the 2007-winning Eastern Creek Karts BMW.

10.30 Update RAIN has returned to challenge drivers in Australia’s longest motor race, the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour at Mount Panorama today.
The wet track played into the fortunes of the all-wheel drive Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10 of leader Rod Salmon, who managed to extend the margin to12.5 seconds over second-placed Paul Morris, in a rear-drive BMW 335i.
While the two Pro-Duct team Mitsubishis with a star driving team including Glenn Seton, Jason Bargwanna and Neil Crompton set the early pace, the Pedigree Mitsubishi Salmon shares with 2008 and 2009 co-winner Damien White and New Zealander had led most of the morning.

Fallen tree stops the race A fallen tree has stopped the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Race at Mount Panorama.
The large tree fell accross the track from the drivers' left hand side and is completely accross the track, stopping the field of cars on top of Mount Panorama.
At the time the cars were following the safety car due to damp and foggy conditions around the circuit.
No cars appear to have been at that point on the track when the tree fell.
Race officials are urgently assessing the situation and a heavy machine has been sent up conrod straight to attempt to remove the more here

2pm Update THE Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour race resumed at 1.42 pm today after one of the most extraordinary incidents in the history of the famous Mount Panorama circuit, the collapse of a large tree across the track.
The tree fell from left to right just past the exit of Forrest’s Elbow corner at the top of Conrod straight, just before 12.50 pm in the seventh hour of the race.
None of the almost 40 cars running at the time was hit and the field was stopped behind the safety car on the top of the mountain while emergency crews cut up the more here

Eric Bana's car destroyed in big crash at Armor All Bathurst 12 hour ACTOR Eric Bana’s hopes of a top result in the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour race ended spectacularly when his car was destroyed in a heavy crash at Mount Panorama today.
Bana’s co-driver Peter Hill was at the wheel of the Globe/Westrac Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10 when it stopped with an unknown problem on the climb out of the Cutting and was hit soon after by a Subaru Impreza driven by rally champion Dean Herridge.
The crash happened at 2.30 pm on lap 130, after eight hours of racing, when the Bana/Hill/Tim Leahy car was in fifth place.

Armor All Bathurst 12 hour update - 4:30pm A SPLIT exhaust pipe has ended the hopes of a hat-trick for 2008/2009 winners Damien White and Rod Salmon in the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour race at Mount Panorama today.
As BMW driver John Bowe extended his lead to two minutes 43 seconds, White stepped from his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10 in the pit garage and announced his Pedigree entry was out of the event.
The split pipe was not only burning the driver’s feet through the firewall; the team also was concerned about heat affecting the brakes.

Paul Morris Leads into final hour of the Bathurst 12 Hour BMW driver Paul Morris put his pedal to the metal and raced toward a potential second win in the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour race at Mount Panorama today.
With an hour left to the 6.30 pm finish, the 2007 winner had covered 181 laps and held a lead of more than one minute over the Mitsubishi Lancer of David Wall, with no need to pit again for fuel or tyres.

Mission Accomplished! Pollicina Motorsports Achieve Top Ten Results with Seventh Outright The 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour will be a weekend to remember for a long time by Pollicina Motorsports. When the Sydney-based team decided to enter this year’s race under the Greg Murphy Racing banner, they were hopeful to be an outside chance for an outright win in the race. But being rookies to the event, the task was somewhat unlikely. The weekend at Bathurst has been a challenge for everyone involved, including drivers Jim Pollicina, John O’Dowd and Simon Middleton.

Final Results for Kiwi's The New Zealand based Motorsport Services team of Scott O’Donnell, Bob Grove and Allan Dippie has finished the Bathurst 12 Hour in 13th position, claiming third in Class C. The BMW 130i completed 191 laps over the duration of the race, 11 laps shy of race winners Paul Morris, John Bowe and Gary Holt.
The trio managed to creep from 34th to 13th in what was an outstanding effort, especially with a team of drivers who had never tackled the mountain.

Gray Family Makes History at Bathurst 12 Hour There were emotional scenes in the Lauren Gray Motorsport (LGM) garage as Michael Gray crossed the line in their class D Toyota Corolla Sportivo to complete the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour production car race at the weekend.
History was made and dreams realised when the pace car lead the field across the line at the end of 12 unbelievable hours of motor racing, Lauren and Michael becoming the first father and daughter pairing to complete an endurance race at Mount Panorama.

Owen claims second pole for Armor All Bathurst 12-hour MITSUBISHI driver Steve Owen claimed his second straight pole position for the Armor All Bathurst 12-Hour touring car race – Australia’s longest motor race - in a hard-fought qualifying session for the 2010 Event at Mount Panorama today.
Owen, from Melbourne, sharing a Superbarn Supermarkets Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10 with Canberra brothers James and Theo Koundouris, claimed the $5000 Armor All Pole Position Award in heavily-overcast but dry conditions – and just managed to deny a fairytale result for perennial Bathurst crowd favourite Glenn Seton.

Hankook qualifies with eye on Race Hankook Competition Australia has completed a trouble-free qualifying session for the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour with driver Mark Brame setting a lap good enough for 17th on the grid in the 42 car field.
The team changed the suspension settings on its new Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X between morning practice and qualifying to adjust to the rapidly drying track after the heavy showers subsided in time for the shootout.

Bargwanna dominates in wet in final practice for Bathurst 12 Hour Day two of the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro was flagged away in wet conditions at the Mount Panorama this morning with V8 Supercar driver Jason Bargwanna setting the fastest time for Bob Pearsons Pro-Duct Mitsubishi Team.
The father and son team of David and Des Wall set the second fastest time in a Mitsubishi 9 GSR, 4/10ths of a second slower than Bargwanna, with the Garry Holt, Paul Morris John Bowe BMW 335i third fastest overall.

Hankook Ready for Qualifying Hankook Competition Australia's Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X has completed three successful practice sessions ahead of this afternoon's qualifying for the Bathurst 12 Hour at Mount Panorama.
Led by drivers Peter Conroy, Anthony Robson and Mark Brame, Hankook spent time on Friday and this morning setting up the car to maximise its performance around the daunting 6.21-kilometre layout.
Rain late yesterday and early today made conditions challenging, but the Hankook trio were impressed with the performance of their Ventus track day tyres - a road-legal R-Spec.

Pollicina Motorsports is Onwards and Upwards in final practice The final 40 minute practice session at the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour brought a few more smiles to the Pollicina Motorsports camp, as they again enjoyed the wet conditions that dawned Mount Panorama this morning.
Although the trio of Jim Pollicina, John O’Dowd and Simon Middleton are still learning the car, the final session was the perfect opportunity to learn more of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII’s limits, particularly with the all wheel drive system. They were also hopeful that they can finally crack into the top 20, after knocking on the door in the first two sessions yesterday.

Jim Hunter Motorsport The Jim Hunter Motorsport team had a mixed first day of the 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour race carnival with one car just outside the top ten and the second taken back to Sydney after an engine detonated.
There were two 60 minute practice session s conducted on the day, the first in the morning in warm and sunny conditions, but in the second session after lunch there was a brief downpour halfway through which left the circuit slippery until the flag dropped.

Team Bathurst on Tack to retain crown Defending production small car class E - Repco Authorised Repairs, champions Team Bathurst, have taken the first steps towards defending their crown by finishing fastest in day one of the 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour race carnival yesterday.
In the first session before lunch, the #88Team Bathurst Subaru Impreza RS 2.5 with Matthew Windsor, Paul Newman and Steven Shiels driving was fastest in class, despite minimum laps with Windsor saying he didn’t want to wear the car out before the race began.

Walden Motorsport Update The first day of practice for cars competing in the 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 hour race at Mount Panorama has concluded with two sessions conducted, the second interrupted by rain midway through and keeping the times of most cars down.
Among those that did improved their times before the rain came was Walden Motorsport with their all new Holden Motorsport backed Airtag Holden Commodore VZ SS, slicing three seconds off their morning times to finish 12th in the session and a most creditable 13th overall for the day and first in class with a 2:36.5950.

Steve Owen tops classy field in practice for Bathurst 12 Hour Reigning Bathurst 12 Hour champions Team Mitsubishi Ralliart posted strong times in both Practice 1 and Practice 2 today at Mt Panorama, although it was the Canberra based Koundouris Brothers entry with Steve Owen behind the wheel that was fastest overall for this weekend’s Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro
Owen set the fastest time in practice session one in the Superbarn Supermarkets #96 while 2008/09 winning driver Damien White was fastest in the second session in the #1 Pedigree Petfoods Mitsubishi Evo X, both in the Natrad All Wheel Drive Performance class.

Pollicina Motorsports Guns for Outright Victory at 2010 Bathurst 12 Hour Sydney-based production car team Pollicina Motorsports is attempting a successful return to national frontline competition, entering a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII for the upcoming Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour on the weekend of February 12-14.

Bathurst Confidence for Team With Top Pedigree WITH practice for Sunday’s 2010 Armour All Bathurst 12 Hour production car event due to start tomorrow, Team Mitsubishi Ralliart (TMR) supremo Alan Heaphy is relishing the challenge of claiming a third straight title.

Bathurst gears up for the Armor All 12 Hour
Bathurst residents are counting down until teams and drivers hit town for this weekends 3 day Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro.
The Event is now in its fourth year and has something to entertain for all including, Superstreet Nationals, support races and the 12 hour race as the feature on the Sunday.

HANKOOK TEAM DRIVER WARNS OF BATHURST 12 HOUR CARNAGE Hankook Competition Australia lead driver Peter Conroy has warned that the winner of this weekend’s Bathurst 12 Hour race will be the car that does the best job of “avoiding the carnage on the Mountain.”
Conroy says last year’s race showed that inexperienced drivers and the Mount Panorama circuit are a volatile combination.
“The winner will be the Class A car that best manages the inevitable accidents and safety cars – which judging by the entry list and last year’s race, I think we can expect again,” said Conroy.

Daniel Erikson to Score Two 'Firsts' at Bathurst 12 Hour Up-and-coming Sydney driver Daniel Erickson will score two ‘firsts’ at this weekend's Armor All Bathurst 12-Hour race - regardless of where he finishes.
For starters, the production car enduro will be Erickson’s first race meeting at the legendary 6.3km Mount Panorama circuit.
It will also be the 22 year-old driver’s first competitive outing in a car with enclosed wheels (previously he has raced exclusively in open-wheeled karts and Formula Fords).
Erickson will drive a BMW 335i for the highly rated Morcom Motorsport team in the 12-Hour.

Subaru Looking to Strike Back at Bathurst Wilson Brothers Racing is looking to transform sprint race success in the Australian Manufacturers Championship into a Bathurst 12 Hour triumph, with their Subaru WRX Sti a genuine dark horse for outright honours in production car racing's jewel in the crown.

Bright/Simonsen/Zukanovic to share 12 Hour Shelby Mustang Team Action Racing have announced V8 Supercar driver, Jason Bright as the third driver in the newly built Shelby Mustang GT 500 to compete in the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro, 12 – 14 February at Mount Panorama.

Successful Test for Several NSW Based Teams As preparation for teams competing in the 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour race intensifies, almost 20 NSW based cars hit the track at Eastern Creek on Thursday for testing.
The test proved the many hours of hard work over the last six months is starting to pay dividends for Jim Hunter Motorsport, and also their choice of drivers, with their Subaru Sti driven by both their latest signing Barton Mawer and Jim Hunter.

Bana to star in Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Enduro Australian movie star Eric Bana will make a return to the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro 12 – 14 February 2010.
The internationally renowned actor who has starred in such films as Chopper, Black Hawk Down, Hulk, Troy and Munich expressed his passion for cars in his 2009 movie “Love the Beast,” which he launched at last year’s Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour.

Tander Teams Up With Hankook V8 Supercar endurance driver Leanne Tander is aiming for class victory when she returns to the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour with the Hankook Competition Australia-backed Conroy Motorsport.
Tander, who competed in the Sandown and Bathurst V8 Supercar endurance races, will partner team principal Terry Conroy and Gerry Burgess in one of two Honda Integras entered by Hankook and supported by Disc Brakes Australia (DBA) and Penrite.

Typhoon Trio Have Bathurst In Their Sights After joining forces for the final round of the Australian Manufacturers Championship at Sandown in November last year, Jeremy Gray and Chris Delfsma reckon their Class B High Performance Rear Wheel Drive Ford Falcon FG Typhoon F6 is a definite Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour outright contender on Sunday February 14 now that Andrew Miedecke has enlisted in the team as the third driver. This will be Delfsma’s fourth Bathurst 12 Hour while Gray will be having his first once-around-the-clock start. SUPERCARS CLUB TOGETHER FOR ARMOR ALL BATHURST 12 HOUR A selection of the world’s most prestigious cars will be on-track during the 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro February 12 – 14, with The Supercar Club announced as the official vehicle supplier to the Event.

Jim Hunter Motorsport Signs Mawer for Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Experienced Sydney racer Jim Hunter has announced that international Australian racing star Barton Mawer will join rally ace Dean Herridge and himself in the Jim Hunter Motorsport #44 Johnson Window Tint Subaru Impreza Sti in next months Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour race at Mount Panorama.

CLIO 197 Renault enters Bathurst 12 Hour The Renault Clio 197 will be represented in the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro 12 – 14 February 2010, the first time a Renault has featured on the mountain since Alan Jones raced the Williams Renault Super Tourer at the Bathurst 1000 in the late 1990’s.

Father and Daughter Aim to Make History at 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Lauren Gray Motorsport, the reigning Class E Australian Production Car Champions, have officially confirmed its participation in the 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro and hopes to make Bathurst history in the process.
The Melbourne-based team has officially entered their Toyota Corolla Sportivo in Class D (Production Sports) and has confirmed that Lauren Gray and dad Michael will make up two thirds of the driving line-up.

Defending Champion Hopes to Regain Bathurst 12 Hour Honours Team Ralliart’s Alan Heaphy has re-entered the 2009 winning Mitsubishi Evo X that was driven to victory by Damien White, Rod Salmon and Tony Longhurst into the 2010 Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro, 12 – 14 February.

CALLS FOR OFFICIALS AND VOLUNTEERS The call is officially out for volunteers for the 2010 Bathurst 12 Hour Enduro at Australia’s spiritual home of motorsport - Mount Panorama.
The three day production based Event will run from February 12-14 and is now seeking volunteers to assist in vital roles for the running of what is fast becoming a motoring experience not to be missed. There are two types of volunteer positions sought; CAMS accredited officials to assist with circuit operations and general volunteers to assist with Event operations such as grandstands, corporate suites, the media centre, information booths and the accreditation centre.

V8 Utes to Enter Bathurst 12 Hour Two V8 Utes - the Holden VE and the Ford FG - have been modified to enter Class H in the 2010 Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro, 12 – 14 February.
Western Australians, Grant Johnson and Allan Letcher, will enter a Holden SS Commodore VE that has been built especially for the event by Hi Tech Motorsports’, John Pachos.

Bathurst local lodges first 12 Hour Entry Bathurst native, Matthew Windsor with his Subaru Impreza 2.5 is the first confirmed entry for the Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro, 12 – 14 February 2010.
Windsor who has driven the car the past three years, recently purchased the car from fellow 12 Hour competitor Jim Hunter.
“I was going to go up a class but then Jim told me he was going to sell his car. I had to buy it, it’s a bit sentimental to me as we’ve been running it the past 3 years and last year we won the class,” said Windsor.

The “Pretty Roar V8 Experience” is a Holden Commodore race car specially engineered to cater for passenger rides and fitted with three passenger seats. Bathurst 12 Hour announces Official Charity The Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro has given the “thumbs up” to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia as the official charity for the production based motor racing endurance event to be held 12 – 14 February 2010.
The Foundation is funding research into the cause, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of prostate cancer. Bathurst 12 Hour Promoter James O’Brien is confident collaboration with the Event will help aid this.

BMW 135i for 2010 Bathurst 12 Hour Newcastle motorsport enthusiast David Searle has committed to building a new BMW 135i to race in the Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro, 12 - 14 February 2010. The BMW will race in Class B of the event, for High Performance Rear Wheel Drive cars, and will go head to head with the BMW 335i which won the event in 2007. Naming rights opportunity for Bathurst 12 Hour Promoters of the Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro are offering a naming rights partnership opportunity for the Event for 2010 and beyond.
