THE ULTIMATE AUSSIE ENDURACE RACE

ARMOR ALL TO REWARD BATHURST POLE WINNERS

ARMOR ALL BATHURST 12 HOUR teams will once again need to find a way to split a giant cheque between three or four drivers should they win the Armor All Pole Position award this weekend.

Armor All, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of car care products, will provide a prize of $5,000 to the team securing the coveted pole position across for the round-the-clock enduro held across the February 24-26 weekend.

New to the Event last year, the qualifying format in place use an aggregate time of drivers entered in each vehicle utilised to set the qualifying grid – rewarding consistency and teams with an evenly-matched driving line up and further showcasing the ‘team’ nature of the race itself.

In a car with three drivers, the fastest time from each driver is aggregated to set that particular vehicle’s qualifying time.

In entries with four drivers, the grid position will be determined by the sum of the three (3) slowest lap times achieved during qualifying by each of the drivers nominated to drive that car during the race.

There will be two sessions held on Saturday giving each driver ample opportunity to set a time.

Last year, Craig Lowndes, Mark Eddy and Warren Luff combined to set an aggregate time of 6:35.6 seconds. Luff set the fastest individual time of qualifying at 2:09.63 seconds.

Event Director James O’Brien said the Event was thrilled to retain the support of Armor All for the new qualifying format to be implemented this year.

“Armor All have been a supporter of the Event since its re-introduction in 2007 and  we are delighted to see ‘Arnie’ offering another $5,000 cheque to the pole sitters.

“Qualifying is only a small part of the 12 Hour Race, but thanks to Armor All it has again become a key and exciting part of our Saturday program.”

Qualifying for the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour will be held over two sessions on Saturday, February 25th.
